The transit is a very rare astronomical event that will not be seen again for another 105 years. The Venusian atmosphere experiences super-rotation. That is – the whole atmosphere circles the planet in four Earth days, on a body that turns around just once in 243 Earth days.

On June 06, 2012 Wednesday morning, i took these two shots of sun where planet Venus (sukra graha as per vedic astrology) was seen as it was revolving around sun in its orbit. It was hard for me to capture this shot as to look into Sun with a naked eye is not advisable. The trick here was i combined my cokin ND filters (one 8 stop and two 2 stops) together which gave me a total of 14 stops and took this shot with a 75-300mm Canon.
